As the Omicron variant rages across the entire northeast and Vermont breaks records daily, multiple cannabis gatherings — including tonight’s scheduled meetup at Vermont Security — have been cancelled.
The cold reality of the winter COVID spike is hitting event-organizers hard following relatively stress-free summer and fall seasons in which participation in events and gatherings rebounded thanks to confidence in extremely-high vaccination rates and the ability to coordinate outdoor-only events.
Earlier in the week, two other cannabis-centric gatherings in the Stowe-area were either modified or cancelled by organizers following concerns and/or confirmed positive tests.
Vermontijuana staff have been impacted directly and have cancelled the Vermontijuana cannabis collective information session gathering that was previously scheduled to take place at Vermont Security.
The previous cannabis collective gathering at Dirt Church Brewery in East Haven drew over 30 participants.

Since the pandemic responses started in March 2020, our Vermontijuana strategy has been to focus primarily on outdoor events that we feel can be both safe and unrestrictive.
To that end, the Vermontijuana Ski Daze event series and our winter carnival in March are still very much ON. Until the mountains shut down, we’ll be out there looking forward to safely connect with friends
Until further notice, Vermontijuana plans to host our next cannabis collective meeting on Thursday, January 13 at Parker Pie Co. in West Glover, Vermont from 6-8pm.
