Hundreds Gather to Graze and Blaze Haze at Spring Swap Weekend

Posted on April 29th, 2022 to Cannabis News by

A YUGE thank you to everyone who came out to the Spring Swap weekend and to the sponsors, exhibitors, and supporters who made it happen!

Thank you to Forbin’s Finest, Winooski Organics, Sherpa Seeds, Vermont Grow Barn, Vermont Greenery, Mountain Fire Farm, Moonrise Botanicals, Apollo Seeds, Green Mountain Patients’ Alliance, False Prophets, Green Mountain Greenhouse, Green Mountain Synergy and Green Mountain Ganjier.

Friday night kicked off with live music at the up-and-coming “Listening Room” music and events venue managed by East Coast Van Builds in Bradford.

If you’re like me and missed the Friday night show with Mal Maiz, the word on the streets is that there’s an upcoming bluegrass show featuring Beg, Steal, or Borrow at the Listening Room on Friday, May 13.

With about four days notice, the Saturday swap (pictured above) was moved from Plainfield to Cabot, which caused some confusion and cost us some ticket sales, but resulted in a new friendship and unlocking an incredible venue!

Our sincere thanks to Ben & Chris for hosting us and to Ben for sharing his amazing stage with Soul Porpoise (Collin Cope and Ira Friedman) along with Sara Grace for blessing our crowd with amazing music!

We were also fortunate to feature an interactive workshop and presentation from Chris Motyka, a certified horticulturalist and instructor in the Castleton State Cannabis Studies Program.

On Sunday morning, we brought the show down to Magic Mountain where we received an incredible welcome and reception from the locals of the Londonderry locale. We’re already planning our return for SKICANN 2023 (January 30, 2023) and thank Kerry and Josh for making our first collaboration so magical, the grassroots vibe was incredible and energizing!

After a slow start, the day picked up with Cyrus of Green Mountain Greenhouse giving an interactive presentation about the Ganjier certification program and how this national program is tasting and judging cannabis.

A huge shout out also to the Local Strangers, a killer Burlington-based supergroup that happen to include a bunch of OG heads.

For those who attended, I hope you all enjoyed the scene as much as I did when sitting in the sunlight enjoying live music and cannabis with friends and fellow members of the cannabis community on Saturday and Sunday.

For me, the Spring Swap is an incredibly important event for cannabis culture and community in Vermont.

Whether you participate in the regulated market as a business owner and/or consumer, the cultivation of cannabis is crucial for building biodiversity and the overall quality of our state’s cannabis stock, sequestering carbon, and improving the lives of Vermonters, especially those unable to afford to purchase cannabis.

A sincere thank you to all of the generous and gracious folx who came out and made this weekend special, we look forward to doing it again even bigger and better next year!

Our next Vermontijuana event will be the return of the Bud & Brunch series, taking place on Sunday, May 29 at a location to be announced in the next week.
